The main stack the water softener was hooked up to was clogged. Since water follows the path of least-resistance, it came out the drain tube for the furnace dehumidifier (that the installers did not even connect properly). It made a waterfall down the side of my furnace, then all over the floor. This was only about 4 minutes of run-time. Evidently, this 1980's water softener with a 1990's computer on top uses a LOT of water. I had to turn off power to the house just to unplug it, because the power cord for the softener was screwed into the receptacle, and it would not pull out anyways without having to bend the water spigots out of the way. Poor house design 101, right here. The water softener has been unplugged and we have been without soft water since the day this video was filmed. Video filmed on: 7/26/2012 2:15 PM
